Though, rest assured, I'm not doing it cos everybody is... I was inspired by them, but I've always wanted to draw a more serious Avatar group shot.

Sang Kelembai

Sang Kelembai is from a local Malaysian folk monsters/characters that can turn people into stone just by talking to them. There's
some dispute over whether Kelembai is male or female, but since my version is inspired by Diamondhead from Ben10, I decided to make him male.

This was done for Pergh's Character Redesign battle.

Yon Gumi at Comiworld

There will be an event called ComiWorld and the Yon Gumi gang will be there! We will be sharing twin booths with an acquaintance group called Tabula Rasa and we will be selling our Yon Gumix Preview Special (cover and content sample above). The event will be held on the 18th-20th of August and we will be there on the 18th and 19th, at Cineleisure, Damansara from 11am to 8pm.

Bears!

Armoured polar bears duel from the The Golden Compass. Didn't quite capture the ferocity and intensity of the scene I read, and the angle kinda suck but well. Gotta learn to draw more bears!

Batman Rogues

I love me them Batman Rogues. Especially these 4. I dunno why, but I love drawing them... maybe it's the characteristics that their appearances just give out. These 4, to me, are totally the main Bat-villains and they all dress in suits... ALL 4 of them... well, Riddler has that green tights of his, but I always preferred his green suit and bowler hat look.

Also... riddler's sort of a good guy now...

New Look (?)

Hey guys. I customized to the blog since it's likely to be the official site for Yon Gumi :P If any of you have scans or soft copies of Yongumix from issue #1 to the latest, do let me know. We can have our past issues on the sidebar. Even if it's just the covers.

The blue drop-shadow/outline on the Yon Gumi header is sort of to show our process of using blue lead to draw prior to inking and screentoning our comics. Hope the screentone dots on the background isn't too trippy.
Feel free to edit anything you feel like!

1) In other news, as you know I have completed the crazy load of 200 pages of Dark Hunger for Penguin. I'm not in the position of power to change the cover art though. The book will be released on October 2nd, 2007...

2) I... had too much free time today.. So... I did some pixel mugshots.. I'll take it down if I start to decorate this place like my own blog!!!!

YG #1... We were teh shit. Had a great takeoff but due to school commitment I was unable to contribute much for the next 3 issues. My entries were lame even for KOTOR II submission. Man I wasn't proud of any of those.. But don't I remember how awesome it felt like then YG#1 was out.

I would love to feel that way again. It's not for the money. It's about the passion brader passion. My hands are itchy to continue/start Black Light as a new title replacing Ultra Jiddo. YG#4 will be great just because I say so.

Tattoo Fighters

Fighters from all over the world got themselves some special tattoos to get new powers or increase what powers they have to join in a fighting competition to see who is the best. Each of them enters the competition with an agenda of their own, including the event organizer, the cyborg Freia. The defeated gives up their tattoo powers to the victor of the battle... who will be the greatest of them all?

Okay, last week was a good start to thematics :D This week's theme (randomly choses chosen since there was were no suggestions T_T) is HEAT. Interpret that visually however you wish.

Also, it's not necessary that you MUST post only themed art during the week...this is just a possible source of inspiration if you're stuck in a rut or something.
